Overall

The IEEE Computer Society in its wisdom decided to hold a meeting of POSIX at the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird. Equipped with borrowed gear from Carl Chilley, I set off for some more skiing.

British Airways had other ideas and my flight to Salt Lake was delayed by 24 hours. Instead of skiing on Sunday, I spent Saturday night at London airport and arrived in Salt Lake on Sunday evening.

Monday morning was still available for skiing, so I rented some skis and signed up for a half day lesson.

The first hour before the lesson started was rather a disappointment. Everything I had learned before seemed to have been forgotten and I fell a lot!

The lesson helped and by the end of the morning, I was once again linking wedge turns and this time I was up the mountain on the Big Emma slope.

Half a day was enough. Cramp set in as I was taking the ski boots off.
